Wednesday, April 10th from 5:30-7:30 PM, Uptown Dallas Inc., the non-profit public improvement district (PID) which manages and enhances the public realm of Uptown, Dallas, held their Annual Meeting at Magnolia Theater.
Interim President, Noelle LeVeaux, and 2018-2019 Chairman of the Board, Jud Pankey, let the conversation presenting property owners with the past years’ work of the PID – which included public safety initiatives, capital improvement projects, maintenance, mobility and marketing goals.
Uptown Dallas Inc. highlighted popular ongoing projects like public art – the organization recently added 12 new murals along the west boundary of the Uptown district, underneath the Katy Trail, and the highly-anticipated two-way conversion plans of McKinney and Cole Avenues.
“We will be working closely with The City of Dallas and plan to be deep into the design phase by the end of the year,” said Noelle LeVeaux.
Property Owners engaged during the Q&A portion of the evening asking questions about upcoming developments and seeking assistance with items around their specific locations.
The loud cheer of the evening came from Uptown Dallas Inc.’s introduction to the five Block by Block Uptown Ambassadors. In 2017, Uptown Dallas Inc. hired ambassadors to be part of a clean streets team. These men pick up trash, clean graffiti, assist with maintenance and provide extra eyes and ears on the neighborhood.
