Uptown Dallas Inc. Executive Director, Kathy Stewart, will be leaving the Organization effective Friday, October 14, 2022, to pursue future professional endeavors.
“I have loved the work of this PID and collaborating with the people who make Uptown one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in the City,” said Kathy Stewart. “Being part of forward-thinking projects and collaborations between community, staff, Board and City is what makes Uptown a thriving neighborhood of success.”
Mrs. Stewart was appointed the role in October of 2019 and during her time accomplished countless successes while also moving the needle forward toward strategic improvement projects set forth by Uptown Dallas Inc. including the hiring of a Public Safety Director, an Outreach Coordinator for the homeless, and an Uptown security company. Additionally, Mrs. Stewart worked jointly with the City of Dallas Parks Department to negotiate a management contract for Uptown’s Griggs Park and advocated for additional future improvements to the park. She participated in the continual planning of the two-way reversion for McKinney and Cole Avenues and led an effort to accumulate census data for the district.
Upon the announcement of Mrs. Stewarts departure, Uptown Dallas Inc. has developed a dedicated search committee to fill the position of President and Executive Director. Inquiries regarding the role can contact [email protected] for more information.
